Kyle’s interest in finance and investing developed early through a passion for business, markets, and entrepreneurship. He was fascinated by how capital drives innovation and how strategic investments can help companies grow while creating value for investors.

As he progressed through his education and early career, Kyle became increasingly interested in the intersection of finance, entrepreneurship, and emerging technologies. His career in banking provided hands-on experience with capital raising, deal sourcing, and investment analysis, while giving him exposure to founders, investors, and growing businesses. These experiences ultimately inspired him to move beyond advising transactions and become an investor himself, partnering with companies during their earliest stages of growth.

Career

Before launching his own firm, Kyle built his career in banking, where he developed expertise in financial markets, capital formation, and investment strategy. Working closely with entrepreneurs and investors gave him insight into how businesses secure funding and scale successfully.

During this time, he recognized opportunities to improve upon traditional venture capital models, particularly by creating investment strategies designed to return capital more efficiently while maintaining strong long-term performance. This philosophy became the foundation of his entrepreneurial journey.

In 2020, Kyle founded Backswing Ventures in New Jersey as a self-funded venture capital firm. After relocating to Orlando, Florida, in 2021, he continued expanding the business, which has since launched three successful investment funds and established itself as a specialized investor in early-stage defense technology companies.

Backswing Ventures works with individual investors, family offices, investment advisors, and fund-of-funds managers while investing in companies developing technologies for defense, military operations, and national security. Kyle believes that supporting visionary founders in these industries creates meaningful opportunities for innovation while generating attractive returns for investors.
